Hey!

I am turning 14 this Saturday and still no idea of wat i should do for a party!!! I cant do a boy/girl party, cuz my rents are WAY strict and i friend of mine just had a girl dance party and that bombed, i mean i just REALLY sucked, i felt so bad for her. So those are out of the question. My mom suggested ice staking, which COULD be fun, but none of my friends can stake. It will be a big party, we might do somekind of Limo ride thingy, but to where? I REALLY need some help here! Last time we went to a live comedic act and it was soooooo much fun! but i cant do it again cuz tickets are hard to come by and party repeats are lame. Anyways! any suggestions at help would help ALOT!

Reply:Well, you could get tickets to Amusement parks like Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, or whatever park is famous in your place.

Together, you and your friends can go to the movies, then eat at a restaurant, and then just chill back home. If you want, you guys can just go to a swimming pool and have a pool party.

first - we went swimming in my pool

2nd- we ate pizza, opened presents

3rd- a limo picked us up

4th- it took us to get mani/pedi's

5th- limo picked us up and took each friend home 1 by 1

Graduation Party..........Christmas?

i'm 13 and my parents didn't do anything for my birthday so they said I could have another party. I was going to have a graduation party but, i found out other kids in my class are having a graduation party.....and no one is having a christmas party.....but my friend is having her b-day party in the end of Feb. I already know we are renting a room and having a DJ.

Also....decoration ideas? what should I tell people to wear ( i know they will ask me)

you should have a christmas wonderland theme - especially since the whole red and green theme is so overused. So go for whites and blues for your decorations, foam snowmen paper snowflakes, icicles etc etc. and tell people that its not a red and green party so they can avoid it =)
Reply:Christmas is great but maybe twist it a little by choosing a certain kind of Christmas like Victorian, Hawaiian, Scrooge (Dickens.....lot's of characters to choose from), Hippie, Nightmare Before Christmas (I like that one!), if you choose a theme then your decorations will fall in line. Make sure all of your guests know that it is important to dress %26amp; act the theme...so fun! Have a great one!!!!

Reply:This is a fun one. Go ahead and do the christmas party but kind of make it a New Years party too. You could do it as a costume partyor make it a color restriction like green and red. With this then its up to your guest to decide what to wear. I mean there is so many different things they could do or wear. I say have a little bit of christmas decorations and a little bit of New year decorations. This way its the best of the holiday season rolled into one.

im planning a july birthday party for myself and i need ideas. i have a pool and a pretty big backyard so i might just have the party at my house. the thing is, i had a pool party last year so i want to do somthing different. does anyone have any good ideas for somthing to do at the party? oh %26amp; its going to be a all girls party. thanks.

Well depending on where you live you could have a camping theme if you are havnig a sleepover i have done that before and it was really fun.
Reply:spa-party - hire a manacurist and makeup person (like for a wedding) to give each girl a manacure/pedicure and makeup. Then have each girl's picture taken.

You may have to limit the number of guests to cover costs -
Reply:I would get a large canopy and set it up outside. I would get out door white Christmas lights (or candles if you're careful) and set up a couple of tables with white table cloths. I would serve up something like pasta salad with chicken or something else similar that was inexpensive and chic... make everyone dress up really nicely and you can have a sort of like dinner party, then you can make it a sleepover and have a midnight swim where you can play Marco Polo and Mother May I and Sharks and Minnows and stuff.

If that doesn't seem like your thing, I would hit up Walmart or the Dollar Tree and get a ton of water guns and balloons and other water toys and just try and make your pool party more vamped up from last year... silly string is a ton of fun... whip cream fights. You can do lot's of neat stuff!

That is a Hawaiian party...do it in the evening, put soft lights of different colors, play lute music in the background, and be sure to have grass skirts for everyone. And it can be a combination of a pool party and a Hawaiian party, no one who goes will ever forget that party, I can assure you of that.
Reply:Have a "fiesta" We had an indoor one for Cinco de Mayo and it was sooo much fun!! We had brightly colored decorations; lights, napkins, cups, plates. Get a pinata and stuff it with fun stuff, it doesn't have to be candy. You can buy decorations at party stores anywhere. Or have a Luau. Those are fun too and you can have everybody where hula skirts and flowers in their hair and do the limbo.

It does kind of seem that way. About 75% of the Republican Party are men while about 65% of the Democratic Party are females.

The Democratic party is designed for both genders. The reason more white males tend to be Republican is because males have more of a problem in dealing with ego versus females.

I will explain. The Republican party has successfully been able to trick white males into thinking being a Democrat is not manly. Testosterone is blocking their minds from being able to think this through rationally.

Second, should you "Get him" ... what do you picture that to be? What are your goals with "Getting him"?

Take a breath. Look at this person as a potential friend rather than an object like shoes, or even like a boyfriend. Then once you make friends, try to put the pieces of the puzzle together. This involves identifying what you want, what he wants and if you fit together. Then after you fit together, does he fit with your family and friends.

Reply:Alright. Monty Python is a British comedy group, not a movie. They have many movies such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Most of the their comedy is wacky and random to say at least, so see it as it is. As for the 16 year old guy, don't worry too much. Don't make yourself too crazy to try to get attention from him. Rather have him come to you first. Remember, guys should make the first move. Otherwise, just enjoy the movie and whatever is there at the party.

I have no real proof of this, but I've gathered anecdotally that members of Congress and state legislators of the republican party can expect a great deal of trouble if they do not toe the party line. Peter Fitzgerald was a Senator in the seat that Barack Obama now holds. One term. He was elected as the republican party nominee. He almost immediately got in trouble with the party and when re-election time came the party renounced him. then state party treasurer on the question of him running: "I can be very encouraging, and I can be very discouraging" To me it sounded like a public warning that he shouldn't bother. And he didn't.

The democrats have a reputation of being more divided.

Does one party have more strict discipline than the other and is this a good thing?

Do officeholders of one party have more freedom of conscience than the other?
Republicans guide themselves by self appointed convictions. Dems have no convictions but to themselves.

edit: Republicans have to live up things like being a christian most of the time, pro life etc...

Dems most don't have religious convictions, and pro-choice means choice not one way or the other like a conviction would be.

I am planning on having my 18th birthday this July for a paintball party. I invited 40 guests, as the paintball field owner told me that they have two fields so all of us could play together.

Anyway, what else do we have to do in a paintball party? I don't want to think that it's boring kind of party (that's why I chose paintball).. and there's this kind of DEBUT TRADITION here in the Philippines, where the debutante has her 18 roses/candles/treasures/etc.

I plan on having mine (alternative to what the usual debut tradition has) as 18 targets/shooters... and I couldn't think of anything else.

I don't know any party program for paintball! Any help?

I'm a 15 year old boy and from the good part of a city so all my friends have plasma screens and Xboxs and PS3s and Guitar hero and DDR and pool tables and swimming pools and the only party stuff I have are a 27" TV, a computer, and a N64 - not the best party gear. My parents are home so we can't all make out (to my disadvantage lol) but what are some good party ideas. My friends aren't crazy about the electronics and don't mind talking and having a good time if we could play some games (parent in the house appropiate please). Do you have any party ideas?

Party ideas for teenagers?
I am going to assume you have a pool and a pool table. Both are amazing. I am 16 and I can definately say that would be a great idea. There are many games you can play while swimming and/or just chat. Pool is fun and can have a easy-going competition. Make teams.

This is border-line appropriate. But why don't you put a good comedy (movie) on, make some popcorn and just have a good laugh. The reason I say it may be inappropriate is because I know how people (guys and girls) seem to think when a movie comes on its makeout time. But as long as everyones aware they can't do that. Especially while your parents are home then it should turn out just fine. Hope to have helped.

I'm a 16 year old male hosting a party for an average group of 25 friends. I am having my band play, and two other bands play. I want to buy Pizza, Soda, and Chips. I only have 5 dollars! The guests are already invited and I am not going to cancel this party. The party begins on August 30th, at 4:30 PM, Eastern Time! Are there any quick ways to make money? I am unemployed at the moment. And I need to know what I can do! Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also...any good ideas for a party of 14-16 year olds?

You are providing the bands. Tell your friends to bring the food and sodas.
Reply:I don't mean to be stiff necked, but it isn't OK to plan a party and then expect your guests to either pay or bring food because you can't afford it.. Whether you are 16 or 60.

If you started out with having a "Battle of the Bands" and said it was going to be a bring your own food/drinks party, that would be different--or if you said it was going to be a covered dish supper and everyone bring some sort of food, that would be OK, too.

But it's rude to invite people to a party where they are expecting it to be fully hosted and then you tell them they need to help.

If you only have $5.00 you are in trouble--because you will need things like ice, cups, plates, napkins, forks, coolers, sodas--besides the food. Of course, if it were only pizza, then the pizzaria probably furnishes the napkins. So, your immediate job is to find out just how much money you are going to need to put this party on, and then find out if you can get a loan from your folks and work it off, or begin knocking on doors to see if any folks need chores done, errands run, etc.

Or, be honest and postpone (not cancel) your event until you are more prepared. It will be less stress on you and you will have a better time when you do have your party.

Reply:There are a few things that I can suggest that may have been mentioned already.

See if you can get casual labor jobs. If you go to a career centre (I used YMCAs youth employment centre) they can help you hook up with hire a student. Hire a Student will help you with contact information for casual labor positions available

Also with your band why not busk to get some money. Or mayby ask your parents to see if they can help you out or even do some work for them.

It was also suggested that you charge admission (maybe $5-7/guest) to cover most of the food cost. Order the food when you have the money at the party and/or ask them to bring some snacks with them to the party.

These combined together (or others that were not recaped) should help you get the money you need mainly at the party but to a degree before the party.

Its possible to do it without canceling the party. so keep up faith, hope and pray (if you belive in these things) will work out.

Hello, I know that there's at least 4 other questions just like this out there. I've looked at them all. But maybe someone out there has another idea that THOSE people didn't.

Here's my info: My friend and I are hosting a party at her house. There are 9 people, including my friend and I, invited. We're not sure if they can all come yet. They RSVP by next week. The age range is 13-14. We're not really sure what kinds of things they'd like to do. It is a co-ed party, but there's only 2 guys invited. We don't really want some make-out party, or giant house party. We don't want beer or drugs or anything like that. Her dad is planning on checking in once in a while. She lives in a duplex that they own, and they own the bottom, bigger floor. She's got a slightly large backyard, and we're able to use the close neighbors' backyards also.

I hope that's enough info. Now all we need is some party ideas. Thank you!

My son has been invited to 2 parties, same date and time, diffrent sides of the city.

Party 1 is for a school friend, one of his best mates, but I can't stand the mother.

Party 2 is for one of my best friends kids. I'd love to go here, as I don't get much chance to catch up with my friend, but my son is not fussed on her child, and would much prefer to go to his friend's party.

My son is 5, do I go to the party that makes my kid happy, or the one that I prefer.

Which party should my child go to??
If he has been invited to both, let him go to his best friends party. Then, later that evening or maybe the next day, go visit your friend and bring gifts for her child/children. It's only fair that he goes to his friends party. He don't want to be left out and be the only friend that didn't show. You could have a good time at both... it doesn't mean you will have to have a meaningful conversation with his friends mother. Just stay focused on your lil man. It'll be worth it to see him grown up and playing with his buddies!

Party Ideas. Help!?

Okay, there are really two types of party's that my friends and I are trying to throw.

1) One of my really good friends is moving away, and so we want to throw some sort of going away party

2) Just the end of the summer, schools here party.

Any ideas for those two? Or maybe combine them to throw one HUGE party? Our budget isn't that big. Last time we spent about $150. So, that is what we are aiming for this time. Something fun! And something that you don't see everyday. Details are more then welcome.

Party Ideas. Help!?
With a small budget, I suggest a 'bring a dish to pass' party and throw it outside on the lawn and do some lawn games. Everyone likes those and you can be creative and make up your own games too. Play volley ball over a clothline rope that is strung from two polls or two trees and use a big blown up balloon instead of a ball, even filling the balloon with water. Play the old fashioned childhood games and bring some memories back into your fun time, like duck, duck, goose or something. Hot Potato is another good one, only you use a real hot potato for some fun. Bake it in the microwave to hot point but not cooked point. Make the going away present a combined gift of a 'pot of gold' or something where everyone just puts lots of pennies into the pot and if you cannot find a pot that looks gold, get a can of spray paint and paint it gold. Usually in the lawn and garden centers there are these huge pots that actually look like the leprechaun's pot (flower pot) which are perfect. They are usually black but like I said, paint it. Instead of eating at picnic tables, throw blankets on the ground and fellowship and tell stories of childhood or funny things that have happened growing up while you are eatinig. Any of those ideas can be for both parties or a combined one. I think you will get a lot more people at one party which will make more pennies in the pot for the going away gift than giving 2 parties and only having some come to one or the other. It helps when people have to juggle their schedules around their own activities. To include the school theme, have a drawing contest where they have to draw a picture that actually looks like a kindergartner drew it and then let everyone vote on whose is the best. Your prises for the games could be school supplies that are really pretty cheap from dollar stores, like pens and pencils or notebooks, etc. Just have fun.

My friend is trying to decide between attending his friends bachelor party or his moms 50th birthday party. He is one of the groomsmen and has already paid money for the bachelor party (which i don't think he can get refunded). His Mom decided to have her 50th bday party on the same night. It was last minute planning that she didn't involve him with until after all the invites were sent out. This could be a no brainer, but what should he do?

wow! well, i'll write why he should attend this or that.

here are reasons to why he should go to his mom's 50th birthday:

yes, he is a groomsman but it's just for one friend. i think more weddings will come where he can be groomsman. would he rather go to one of his many of his friend's party, or go to his one and only moms 50th birthday. he only has one mom and turning 50 is really special. in the future, when he turns fifty, wont he wnat all his kids, if he has, to celebrate it? if he misses out on the bachelor party, no one will really care because he is one of many. but if he misses out his moms birthday, then someone will really care, his mom. isnt losing his mom worth losing a few bucks? how would he like it if his mom never attended his birthdays when he was small? she raised him up, the least he can do is return the favor.

here are reasons to why he should attend the bachelor party:

he did get invited to this first and he did lose money form it, the least he can do is enjoy it. and that's all i can say.

do u see where he should go to? the person that raised him. sure he lost some money but think about the money his mom spent on his birthdays. at least he isnt missing the wedding. i would say to go to his mom but it is actually what he wants.

It will be a 13th birthday party, and I want is a color theme. The colors will be orange, lime, and magenta. I will get those colors in utensils, plates, cups, and napkins. I will have balloons in those colors. The invitations will be written/decorated in those colors. I don't know how else to incorporate the party colors! It will be a party in my backyard at night with about 30 people. There will be music and dancing. There will also be an in-ground pool and jacuzzi, which we will use. I need ideas in decorating the pool area and yard including those colors. I will be stringing white xmas lights on the fence so that multicolored ones don't distract from the theme. HELP! YOU COULD BE THE BEST ANSWER!!

You can string streamers that color. You can get some inexpensive candles and holders and put them around yard. If you cant find holders in colors you want paint them. You can get platters and party bowls in those colors. You can cover tables with covers in that color. Look around a party store and get ideas using just the colors you are using. maybe some decorations to hang on fence or across doorway. Reply:I was at a party where everyone was handed a glow in the dark necklaces. It was so much fun! the men used them as neckties and the women wore them around their waists or necks. They kinda look like balloons and you could get them in the colors you want.

The other idea would be glow in the dark or not beach balls, either for your pool or throw around your yard.

If you don't want those multi colour lights, just go to a dollar store or something like that you you can find light covers that are in the colours you want. You can just hang them on the lights to light it up. Also, you could take tissue paper in those colours, if you can't find those light coverings, and put it over a light to make it the colour. Just have white lights and put it over. You bascially got it covered. I think that you sounds great. Just use a lot of lights and it will make it beautiful !!!! I'm a writer. I've never gotten drunk before. It's a good thing since I am underaged away. I'm writing about a teenage girl who gets drunk at parties. How does being drunk feel like? How do you feel the next day? What are the things drunk do? I don't get out much %26amp; as a teenager have never been to a wild %26amp; crazy party. Please be descriptive. thank you.

Seriously, don't do it, it's not worth it.

It's different for everyone, but in general, it's going to impair judgement and make the toilet your best friend. Other people disagree with me and believe it's only a good time if you were really drunk, but I'll tell you this -- is it really that good of a time if you acted like an idiot and you feel miserably sick all day the next day?
Reply:well, you feel sort of light, calm. a little warm/flushed?. more comfortable with yourself and around people. you can do some things you normally wouldnt do. when you really start getting drunk it is hard to stand. walking is really hard you kind of start falling to the sides n do stupid things. you can also black out/ you get really short term memory and the day after you remember little or nothing about what you did. Sometimes you feel real emotional and things just make sense.

Usually you get a hangover. They suck. at new years i had a horrible one and it felt like my head was split in two. I had a bad stomach ache and didnt get out of bed until like 7 pm that day! it lasted like the whole day pretty much but i felt like i never wanted to drink again. after that though i was ready for more!!
Reply:i drank in my good,old bad days...being drunk causes ones words to slur,may make you feel brave or lustful,even angry since alcohol effects all people differently...the next day you usually feel a great since of remorse if you have any since at all...it also includes a huge headache and nausea...good idea not to drink ever,good luck with you up coming book!

Reply:I'm not a teen, but have been drunk many times. When I am drunk I am more outgoing and carefree. I don't think about what might offend others, and I just act as I please, and I don't feel physical pain to the same degree as I would if I were sober. The next day my body aches and I begin to discover bruises. I always try to remember how I got them, and I often wonder how much of a fool I made out of myself or if I did something to offend someone, this is often associated with a headache and a nauseated stomach. I only drink with my family because I know it is safe and they will forgive me for my stupidity just as I will them. It also heightens my emotions, my feelings get hurt easier and I am quick to get angry, but most of the time everyone is happy and I enter a euphoric like state laughing at everyone and everything. It is such a great feeling to just let everything go and be happy and carefree instead of responsible and uptight all the time. One time my step sister thought I stole her cigarettes, we were both drinking and she chased me around the house with a wooden spoon threatening to beat me up. Mature adults only do things like this when they are intoxicated, but boy was that a fun night. It is a great way to relieve pent up anger and stress. I don't recommend doing it with just anyone though. ;-)
Reply:Yeah don't do it you will probably get totally wasted or buzzed loose count of drinks people will know you never drink and you can increase your chances of people doing a prank on you like taping/gluing stuff on you shaving your hair, writing on you record you. You can even black-out and not remember a thing.

wen you party all the time the hang over is horrible like your boady is one heart beat away from death your head pounds it causes anxioety for days after depressinon and usally regret for stupid actions and poorly made choices. my life phscally and emotionaly was a wreck. and all that mattered was the next itme i could get drunk hav that hapy carefree feeling and forget all about it. i dont know how many times i woke up with no recolection of wat had happened and usally i would hav bruises or skin off me and no idea wat hapened. god i could hav been raped or even concented to sex that i wouldnt remember. when your wrighting about this the being drunk takes away allfear of consaquences for any actions or reactions so people do crazy things

Halloween party dilemma!?

There is a halloween party i new about for a while that was going to be held at a local centre and i really want to go, i thought my best friend would want to come too. The other day tho she said ooooo i'm having a halloween party at mine we'll just watch movies and stuff. The thing is some of my other friends are still going this party at the local club. I dont really want to be harsh on my friend because im not that type of person, but i've wanted to go this halloween party in a while! Do you think yes i should just stay with my best freind and some other friends or go the party?

Be honest. Let your friend know that you didn't realize he/she was having a Halloween Party that day and so you've made plans to go to the local centre Party. If she gets her feelings hurt, invite her with you. Maybe she can convince the people that were supposed to be at her party to go with you and you can all go to the centre. Or, you can tell her you'll go to her party after (or before) the other one. Good luck!

I feel so crazy, I love to party. I guess you can say I am your typical teenager, but when I am partying I cant control myself and I do stupid things. I never go to school, all I want to do is party. Its getting to the point where its dangerous. I am either at someone else’s house partying or having a party at my place. What can I do to stop all of this?

Green party candidates not included in debates, given equal coverage?

Why are green (or 3rd) party candidates often not invited to debates and their issues and policies not given equal coverage?

This happened in my state (TN) recently with the race for U.S. Senate when the green party candidate, Chris Lugo, was not included in the debates between Bob Corker and Harold Ford Jr. in Memphis and Chattanooga. He is a viable third party candidate and went through the same steps as the major party candidates, so why are his views going widely unheard? I am an independant voter and do a lot of extra research about the candidates to make sure that I know the policies and political histories of the person I vote for. However, many people don't do this as they believe they can gain all the information they need through televised debates %26amp; newspaper coverage. Thus my question, WHY, why are all parties not included in debates and their issues/policies not given equal coverage!? Doesn't this lead to voters who are not fully informed of their choices?

The status quo, two party system fears the third party candidates. They will not allow them to be included because they are affraid they will begin to lose power if one of these third parties starts to make sense to people and starts to address the issues the R's and D's are affraid to address. They have a great market monopoly, why let another "business" come forward and undermine that monopoly!?!

So to answer your question, third parties and independent's are a threat to the two party politics of America and so will never be allowed to be a part of debates because they are afraid!

Anyways......I am an independent and proud of it...and I often think it is BS that they do not allow EVERY candidate to be in the debates regardless of the fact that this will take more time. They have the RIGHT to get their voices heard and allow the American electorate to make a better, more informed choice.
Reply:Third parties don't have a large enough installed base, whereas Democrats and Republicans are entrenched in their fortresses and have tremendous marketing clout. Third parties yell a lot, but are usually laughed at and ignored.

In fact, the last third party that's was successful in American history was a nutzo anti-slavery, pro-abolition party called the Republicans, who put forward some tall lanky guy for President. He won.

So, IMHO, third parties should not be ignored. New ideas often come from new places.

The Washington crowd, lobbyists like the way it is set up and the congress makes the laws which are designed to keep outsiders out. The parties choose who will run and play on their team. We really don't have a fair choice.

No, people would rather watch American Idol and such than take the time to learn about their own representatives. Then they make up their minds through commercials which are no more meaningful than an ad about what is the best cereal.

Other parties are welcome to toss their hats into the ring, but they don't have a chance from the start. A vote for a third party candidate is a throwaway vote. Not by design, but by practicality. The very best effect a third party candidate can have is to dissuade voters from supporting candidates closer to their way of thinking. Several elections have been thrown by third party efforts in the biggest contests. For example, Ross Perot took, what was it? 3-5% of the vote for president and threw the win to the worst candidate on the ballot. Turns out that Ross was a little bonkers to boot. But under the influence of handlers, he sounded pretty sane.

I was planning on throwing a 30th birthday party, I was going to do a tiki party, but I just found out that my cousin's wife is going to throw him a tiki party and his 30th birthday is 10 days before mine. Reply:It is sometimes hard to find a lot of decorations or materials for a given theme so I have done an "Around The World" party before.

You can have multiple rooms from multiple countires or split the room into four sections.

At mine I had The bathroom filled with cotton balls its theme was Antarctica.

The kitchen was hot hot hot in Mexican style. The colors and decorations were all in the style and food around the kitchen set out was mexican.

In the dining area was France. I had printed out pictures of france things like the eiffel tower, le louve, and written french words on the table cloth. The food was sortof french. I put little french toothpick flags in food.

Finally I did an Asian room. I set a table cloth on the ground and used chopsticks and such.

It is not that much work if you are a creative person.

i like to go to parties and dance but since im shy, no one invites me to parties! how can i get invited to parties and become a party girl? btw, im a teenager.

Most HS parties, or at least the ones I went to, didn't involve much dancing. They were always more about just hanging and and getting trashed lol. If you want to go out dancing try and find a teen night at a local night club. At least one place in town is bound to have one and they can be really fun. Your parents will always likely approve if you attending something like that because they usually allow no alcohol.

I'm having a passion party in a few weeks. For those of you whodon't know, a passion party (or fun party) is a party where a sales rep bring toys, oils, lotions, etc. for the bedroom and you can purchase these items. I need help thinking of invitations to send out to people. I want them to be cute and funny. What should they say?

Have you checked with the rep that's coming to the party to see if they have invitations available? I'm sure that even if they don't, they have some ideas. Try checking the websites of the different passion party websites - they have lots to say on the main page, borrow some of their text.

Search online for clip art/pictures that would be appealing to your friends - you know the people you're inviting. If they're more conservative, try something like roses or champagne to give a sense of romance. If they're more open, try a pair of handcuffs or something like that on the front. I'd just keep it simple, inviting them to a "Girls Night In" with a warning that it may get a little raunchy!!!

One of my friends is having a sweet sixteen party in a couple of weeks. It going to be a really big party but her fear is it being boring and people not wanting to dance. She wants it to be a really good party. Do any of you have ideas on how it can be a really good party?

Make sure the music's good. People like getting free stuff so pass out cool favors or give prizes for something...best dancer or have quick contests every so often to keep people participating. My cousin's party passed out glowy thingies so the kids could use while they danced at night, everyone liked that.

im having a party on the 28th i havent passed any invites out yet and i think ill do it at a hotel with like 8 of my clostest friends. i was wondering what we could do for my party. im turtning 13 and we will prob get a hotel with a pool. also i need help convincing my mom. i wanted to get 2 rooms so my mom and gma can sleep in one room and me and my friends will have sleeping bags for the other room. She was saying what if something happens? What if someone breaks in?

What you can do... make sure you go to a hotel with alot of amenities like a pool (as you stated already), hot tub, arcade, restaurants, or even live entertainment. Make sure that there are other things do near the hotel. You might not have to worry about transportation as the hotel might have a bus that can take you to near attractions. But this all depends on the hotel and what y'all are into. But make sure you find out these things in advance.

P.S. It seems like ur Mom and urself have a good relationship and I don't think she will have a problem in coming unless you got other siblings that need to be taken care of.

P.S.S. Make sure there's a mall near the hotel too just in case you want to go shopping (it is ur b-day!)

Just bring a buch of board games. My friend has these really cool Truth or Dare Scratchcards. They're made for a bachlorette party, but we used them at my friend's 12th birthday party and it was hilarious. If you happen to see those, definatly buy them.

Bring some movies (preferrably funny, like She's the Man, or The Simpsons Movie, or Music and Lyrics) , microwave popcorn and stuff like that.

Tell your mom that it's just as likely for someone to break into a hotel as someone is to your house....becasue that's pretty much true, right? More ways to convince her are: There is no mess to clean up, no need for disrupting siblings or anything.

Reply:Hey Sweetie! I have done this before, and it works out great if you stay at like an embassy suit. Seriously you just need two rooms that connect to each other. The greatest thing about Embassy Suits is that they always have pools, happy hour with popcorn and drinks 5pm-7pm. Things to do: Food- lots of snacks, soda, and finger foods, pizza always goes well, and cake, Movies-- chick flicks! Music-to start the part out, my girls friends and I would have crazy dance party, just make sure you don't get to out of control. You can bring games such as taboo, scatgories, apples to apples, cards-- big group games, Scene it is another good one go swimming!

You guys will most likely end up talking and falling to sleep!

Have cereal or bagels or donuts for breakfast, but as the hotel if its okay to partake in their breakfast. You could even have a tea party in the morning.

Its your night! As long as your having fun it does not matter what you do!

To get parents okay with it:

Convince them that a down to earth girl (me) has had many in the past. Hotels are very safe places! They can have connecting rooms with you guys!

That's seriously will do it for everything!

Happy birthday! And let people know two weeks in advance so they can get you gifts and plan!

Make sure it is also understood on the invitation that it will be chaperoned, other parents might freak out!

My cousin told me and my mom she would be throwing my bachelorette party. I hadn't said anything to remind anyone because I didn't want to seem rude or anything, but with the time coming very quickly I decided to ask mom if she knew anything because of my working a second job now and other things.

She said the cousin forgot about and thought my MOH was throwing it..and I said no she thought my cousin was throwing it.

I had a passion party back in february and 15 people rsvp'd

only four showed up...mom said she thought that was my party and i laughed and told her no it was just something fun because i got a free gift out of it.

I talked to my MOH today and told her I wasn't having a bachelorette party. She asked why and I told her my cousin forgot. She then said "No we'll have one, just talk to some girls and lets see if we can all get together"

Is this my job? If it is that fine, i just want to do whats right. I don't want to seem rude by 'throwing' myself a party.

Reply:You don't have to have a bachelorette party, you have had several bridal showers already. If you and a few of your friends want to get together and scarf down pizza and joke, dance, or watch DVD's that would be cool or even go out for a drink or two but it seems to me that all you have done lately is attend parties. I would want a little rest before my wedding to get things done that need to be taken care of. There are always some last minute details you may have forgotten about.
Reply:I see nothing wrong with working with your MOH to plan it, but I don't think you should do it yourself. Half the fun as the bride is wondering what is planned for you. What I had wanted to do was to have an old-fashioned girls only sleepover! Everyone turned in their keys at the door and they get locked up, they bring their pj's and beverage of choice. Just sit around together playing games, watching tear-jerker chick flicks, etc. This way no one is putting out tons of money, no possibility of anyone getting drunk and out of control and a DUI, but a good way for some female bonding, in a safe environment. Instead we went to dinner, a comedy club and a bar in the same complex and one person was the designated driver. It was a lot of fun, but I still wonder if the other idea wouldn't have been as much fun!?
Reply:Traditionally, the MOH throws the bachelorette party. But if she (due to a miscommunication or another reason) has dropped the ball, there's nothing wrong with you planning it. Hey, at least this way, you'll get exactly what you want! If you are still uncomfortable with the idea of throwing it for yourself, you could have your MOH be the official host, while you make the decisions and invitations 'unofficially'.

I don't think you should have to plan your own party, if all else fails, have your mom plan it. You're under enough stress already. I would also tell your MOH and bridesmaids how much this means to you and how you were counting on them to plan it themselves, but seeing that they cannot handle it, you may have to rely on someone else to get it done.

I really want to have a vegas themed party. With like poker and 21 and have virgin martinis and that kinda stuff. But i have a lot of religious friends and im worried that if i have that theme then their parents wouldnt let them come to the party or the wouldny let us be friends . your dad is reading way too much into this, it's a party, no one's going to get addicted to gambling, don't use money or anything. and tell your religous friends' rents that your rents are going to be home and what not and that's like all they want to hear. and no alcohol.

Since you have a pool, this is an easy one. Make it a hawaiian theme. You and your friends can make your own pizzas and put whatever you want on them. Pick out the latest movie and get together in your living room or basement to watch it. Think about things that you and your friends have as a common interest and do that as well. The pool will make it cheap, easy, and fun for you guys at your party. Happy Birthday!

My girls (twins) are turning 4, but they don't want the same party. First three years we didn't have themed parties, and so I thought a themed party this year would be fun. Unfortunatley, one of my girls wants a pirate party and the other wants a fairy, both very determined. How can i resolve this?

Tinkerbell and then, you could base it on the ship and all the pirates. Then, you have Captain Hook and everything.

Yep. I have brothers and sisters and they all love different things. We have to work out, something that we would all enjoy. :)

Just ask the kids, whether they would like to be a fairy or a pirate and get a mix and blend the themes together. Keeps both of them happy.

You could always arrange one party, the day after or before. Or, throw one party in the morning and one in the afternoon. Or go somewhere, which has two party rooms and flick between the two, if you don't wanna throw both of the parties together.

2. Each girl has a party on a different day just like any other siblings do.

3. You chose and not ask again for a few years.

The reason I ask is because I'm from the Dominican Republic and we are experiencing something that could result in a system similar to the Republican and Democratic two-party system of the United States. We have had 3 main parties for a long time. The PRD, PLD and PRSC. The PRD is a center-left social democratic party, the PLD used to be a center-left party that has gravitated towards a center-right platform in the last decade, and the PRSC is a conservative populist party that is losing a lot of support so now many experts say it will be absorbed by the PLD. I think that the PRSC will disintegrate and we'll be left with 2 parties. Countries with 2 main parties...one center-left and the other center-right tend to be the most stable democracies. The U.S. is a good example of that. So do you think that this is a good thing for the Dominican Republic and its development?

Interesting question. There is no answer to this. It could go either way. It does depend on whether or not the majority rules.

With that said, there is the theory that with a 2 party system you have a better chance of the majority getting their will. If you have a 3rd party then the chance of the minority rule is possible. In the USA we had on election where we had 3 candidates. The one that won had a majority of barely 35%. The winner was Abraham Lincoln. The South felt that the majority did not have a say and they were write. At minimum we should have at least 51% votting in a winner. As a result, the South thought (this is more complex than what I am putting here but it is true and it did contribute to our nations woes) this was wrong and started the Civil War (1861-1865).

In that election almost 2/3s of the nations citizens did not get there say. Sooooooooooooooo.... a multi party system can work but there is a risk that it could end up with a minority winning.

Agin, this is a very complex subject and it would take a lot of writing to give it justice. However this will have to do.
Reply:I don't think there is any advantage to having three or more parties (as opposed to only two) with one exception. Sometimes the "minor" party has a great influence of the policies and laws adopted by the two major parties when those two parties are in power. A classic example exists in the U.S. The Socialist Party never elected a President in the U.S. None of their candidates ever got a single electoral vote. But, with the exception of two items, their 1928 political platform is the law of the land today.

The biggest problem I see in parliamentary democracies which have three or more parties is when they also have a proportional representation system in their parliaments where each party gets seats dependent on the percentage of the popular vote they got in the last election. This is in sharp contrast to the "first past by the post" system where the winner in each district election is given the seat. In the case of Israel, for example, it has been impossible for a single party to form a majority in their parliament, forcing the ruling party to bend to the will of very minor parties.

A guy named Da Vid founded the party in 1984 as the Human Ecology Party. It was officially named the Light Party in 1995.The party's major beliefs are "Health, Peace, and Freedom for All." From this they formed a 7-point platform. With only 1500 total members, the party can't even get enough signatures to be placed on a ballot. The last I heard of them was when Da Vid was running for President in 2004 as a write-in candidate, but I think he eventually dropped out. They do have a website. Whether its updated or not I don't know.

I've told my parents that im going to stay in my best friends house for the night just to hang out and watch a movie, but in reality im going to a completley different persons house to a party. Im really excited about it, but im also worried coz my mum could find out! she might phone my best friends mum on the night of the party when im supposed 2 be staying at her house, and realise that im not there at all! wat can i do? and please dont say 'dont go coz i reali wana go!O also, the house where the party is gonna be held is absolutly amazing. The house is lovely and we were wonderin how can we stop if from gettin destroyed? We did this in the days before digital cameras, we used to make sketches where all the ornaments were. Never got caught.

Reply:Well, gee, i was a kid once and i might of pulled a prank like that or two. In the first place, don't lie to your parents... just don't tell them the whole truth. Tell them that while over at your friend's place, you might decide to go to a movie or maybe to another friend's place first... That way you take away the need for them to call to spy on you. Then, if you have a cell phone or if not, ask to borrow someone's, call from the party and let them know you're at another friend's house for a little while (you can fill in whatever reason or details you want) and are just calling them to let them know and you'll be going back to your original friend's place. As for the party... hide all the furniture, breakables and valuables in one room or in some place out of the way, preferably if it can be locked. And you shouldn't be drinking if you're not of age, but if anybody needs to puke, get them to a sink, a toilet, or outside. Have fun! Putting partying over your parents is a tradition as old as time. You're not the first. The reason some parents get worried or overprotective is because they did the same thing when they were kids. Some of us, though, don't have a problem with letting our kids be kids AS LONG AS THEY'RE NOT F---IN STUPID ABOUT IT! Stupid is never fun.

Reply:I do not know your parents, so cannot say how to hide it from them. As far as keeping the other house clean

1 - NO red Koolaid drinks that can stain things.

2 - literally block entrance to certain rooms that should be off limits - the parents bedroom and master bath is a great start

3 - set things around where the TVs are on the walls so people can't get close enough to bump them

4 - If it can be afforded, get some furniture covers to avoid stains on the sofas

5 - keep people outside as much as possible. Vomiting in the house is difficult to clean

6 - purchase lots of cleaning products ahead of time to prepare for the worst. Have access to a steam cleaner with stain remover to take care of the carpet.

7 - remove all breakables and glass objects and store them someplace else

8 - use all plastic cups, plates, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper towels, etc. NO GLASS!

9 - take the garbage elsewhere. Do not leave it out for the trash at the house or even the neighbor houses. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Take garbage to a dumpster, if at all possible. Parents are smarter than you think.

10 - invite the neighbors, if they are cool, or make sure they will not tell. Neighbors can be difficult and tricky to deal with.

11 - have the party at least 3 - 4 days before the parents are due back, if at all possible. plenty of time to sleep the next day and still clean everything.

12 - Know where to purchase similar bedsheets, towels, etc if they are ruined. Better yet, go purchase some real cheap stuff and not use anything from the parent's house.

13 - have people bring coolers and don't store any of the food or beverages in the parent's refrigerator. If you forget about checking the refrigerator the next day and something is left there.....oops!

14 - No leftovers. People leave with what they brought, including dishes. No extra dishes. Make sure dishwasher is empty before parents get back.

15 - buy plenty of air freshener and give it time to air out of the house before parents return

16 - no smoking in the house of any kind. that smell gets trapped in furniture for months.

17 - if anyone breaks any of the rules for offlimit rooms, glass, smoking - kick them out of the house. What is worse - a pissed off friend for 2 days, or getting caught.

18 - have someone who knows what they are doing DJ the party. Make that person responsible for controling the music, including how loud the speakers go. Having the police come for loud music would be a VERY BAD thing.

19 - make someone responsible for the cars and the keys. no double parking, no cars parked illegally, no one leaves the house without permission.

20 - have numbers for taxi service readily available. move these cars at least 1/2 block from the house so they are not left there the next day for questioning

21 - invite at least one person, no matter how neardy or uncool, that can be responsible enough (the whole no drinking thing) to take care of the driving of the cars when needed. Better yet, invite 2 of them so they can talk to each other and not bother you!

22 - and of course, the disclaimer......no alcohol. I do not want to contribute to the delinquency of anyone underage, so no drinking.......

23 - one thing for the phone calling by your parents.......set up call forwarding on the friend's phone so it goes to your friend's cell phone. the parents can always be busy or out back or downstairs or upstairs or already in bed. Don't forget to take off the call forwarding.

well last year me and alll of my friends from school (13 in all) had a christmas party. we are doing it AGAIN this year (15 in all) last year i popped out of this big box..becuase i want to be a performer i always do really creative things for like parties...but ne ways the party kinda celebrates like christmas and a couple birthdays (its not there actuall "birtyhday parties" we just kida regonize them for it) ne ways......last year for my friend shelby ("celebrating her birthday at the christmas party) popped out of this box that she thought was a present and did a dance n the whole SHA BANG....but this year im totally lost on what to do..i need sumthing fun, creative, and will hjave everyones attention. my family just got a wii and i want to have a party. in my basement, we have a ping pong table, the wii, an air hockey table, a white board, and a lazyboy chair. but the thing is - they barely fit in there. and i want to have a party with like 10 people. the ceiling isn't finished, and theres not wall to wall carpeting - just a carpet that covers most of the cement floor. would this be suitable for the party? because if we're just hanging out, we can fold up the ping pong table and if we wanna play we can put it down and everyone else can stand along the sidelines. i'm just kinda embarrassed because our basement isn't finished that well. would it be okay? please say more than yes or no. party ideas would be good, like what to do and stuff.. ok thanks!!!

So Im beginning to plan my 18th Birthday party. I plan on having a large group of people, unsure of exact count. This is challenging because I'll have my family, friends from church and school attending. I dont know what kind of "activities" or things to do.

I could have the party at my house but would rather not. Somewhere inside because its in February, it maybe cold.

Where should I have the party? What should I have at the party? Im not into getting crazy drunk. No alcohol will be served. Im clueless. Please give me some advice. Thank you.

Well, some of the answers are easy. Where and what should you have are easy. Because of the size and kind of groups involved, i.e. family, school, church; you MUST have the party at the church's social hall. (I threw an anniversary party there, for much the same aggregation of people you mention, and it was a great party!)

You should have a non-alcoholic punch (there are some really good ones-- especially ones with ginger ale and ice cream--- that everyone will like!) and since it's cold also offer hot spiced apple cider or hot chocolate or hot cappuccino! Since it's at church, no one will complain about no alcohol.

The kind of activities is more difficult and will require a lot of thought. Are all of the guests going to be about the same age as you? Are there going to be younger children and adults? Do you want to have separate activities for the different age groups or do you want something to include everyone? Once you decide these questions it will be easier to come up with the appropriate activities. Since I can't talk to you about these details, I would recommend that after you decide about the age group divisions, you should ask a professional party planner for ideas. Or come back to Yahoo Answers with a question about age-specific activities at a church gathering

Reply:If your chuch has a banquet room, party room or gym maybe you could book it for your party! Banquet Hall rental? Why not do it at home? If you're sick of home, you can decorate it nice so you feel as if you are somewhere else!

You could keep it simple, an afternoon gathering!

Serve appetizers; nachos and dip, veggie sticks, bruschetta!

Then lunch; Big bowl of caesar salad, platter of of pasta, chicken fingers %26amp; wings...

...then serve tea and coffee with birthday cake.

Then open your gifts in front of everyone!

Reply:This may be nothing like you're looking for but I'll tell you of two I put together and we had such a great time, filmed them as well , that years later we still talk about the occassion. One was a "50's" lip-sinq. We a dressed the part, had a soda jerk to run the pop bar and had awards for the most original act, the best outfit and the most unique. Food was served buffet style. Wow did we have a great time.

The next was an "Old Fasioned Hoe-Down or Hootnaney" We hired a Square Dance caller who taught everyone a few steps, we dressed in western wear, had cowboy beans, cornbread, chilli, stuff like that. At first people were reluctant to dance, never having done anything like it before. By the end of the night they couldn't get enough and we had a hard timeclosing up the gathering.

Just a couple ideas, we enjoyed them, it's fun to do something completely out of your routine and element now and then.

The guy had a DJ in his living room spinning great electronic music... kind like moby style... and outside he had this other local band playing santana and hendrix... the dude was even playing the guitare with his teeth! It was sick!!

I would get a DJ to play some good electronic music... like jazzy electronic, drum and bass, trancy, etc.. NOT cheesey 80's! Every party that I have been to has had a solid DJ has always been great!

One of my favorite themes is food on a stick. Think of everything you could skewer, or deconstruct and put on a stick (example, take a piece of thinly sliced steak, drizzle sauce over it with a piece of cheese, and a piece of bread at the end, presto, a deconstructed philli cheese steak sandwich!)

My friends and I can paint each other and the shirts. Also, we are going to do it at night so all you can see are these glowing figures! Third party candidate?

Have you ever voted or considering to vote for Third Party candidate? Do you think any Third Party candidate has a chance to get anywhere?

In most countries, even Britain, Parliaments consist of more then just 2 parties, in a country where I was born, Latvia, there are about 15 - 20 parties running for Parliament elections, and about 5 - 7 pass. I know, many Americans are not satisfied with only 2 parties having power, but do you think United States are doomed to choose between donkey and elephant?

Third party candidate?
As long we have the "winner-take-all" system (where the candidate with the most votes in that state gets all of that state's electoral votes) and the electoral college, it seems very unlikely that a third party candidate could win. I almost voted for Ross Perot back in 1992, and then realized that the guy was nuts, so I didn't. But the structure of our electoral system has a lot to do with the two party system, and since you need a constitutional amendment to get rid of the electoral college, its seems unlikely that will happen any time soon.

I am a 27 yr old mother of 2. My youngest is turning 2 at the end of the month and we had planned to have her party at my parent's house. They have an excellent backyard venue for a party with plenty of parking. I have the entire party planned, except for purchasing the decorations and I have NOT sent out the invitations yet. My problem is my father. He is aggrivated with me, for an unapparent reason, and I am considering backing out of the picture for a while to let him deal with the personal issues which has led him to "dislike" me at the moment. I feel that if he is angry with me, but cannot communicate his anger, how am I to square away a party for my daughter? Should I book a party elsewhere, or forget his behavior and attitude towards me for the sake of my daughter. He can barely look me in the face, and there are many other circumstances surrounding the issue, none of which involve me specifically. Help!! (I pay my own bills, have my own house, take care of myself!!!)

Boyfriend went to a party without me?

So...my boyfriend and i have been going out for about 8 months. Tonight is one of his friends birthday parties and I told him to go. I thought the party would be all guys and i didnt want to go because it would be awkward. Anyway, about an hour before the party my boyfriend found out (at least he says he found out an hour before the party) that there would be girls, drugs, and alcohol there. I didnt know about the girls and when i asked him why he hadnt invited me to the party, he told me that his friend asked if i wanted to come, but he told his friend that I wouldnt want to. Now should i be upset that he went to a party with a bunch of girls there tonight, while im home alone? I trust him, im just upset he went without me to a party with a bunch of other girls

Ok. for my 15th birthday, me and my best friend (were eight days apart in age) are haveing a big party. We have no idea what all needs to go into party planning or w/e so we really need help! our limit is about 300-400 dollars, and were thinking about doing a hollywood themed party with a red carpet and photographers, and then have everyone dress in red carpet attire. Then the rest of the night we will just have music and dancing. We think we found a good place to rent out thats big enough, and only 100 dollars for two hours. We need a DJ, lights, decorations, and a cake. Any party planners out there that would give me advice? what else do i need? and what are estimations on what each of these would cost. any advice your willing to offer would be greatly appreciated! Will someone please explain to me why the Labour Party (Blair at least) allignes itself with the American GOP so intimately? I'm an american and from research it seems as if the Labour Party has more in common with our Democratic Party. Has the Labour Party changed over the years? Am I getting the theoretical deffinition of the Party and not new commonplace? Please shed some light and please don't just bash the givernments.

Labour Party?
Many British people are baffled at the closeness of Bush and Blair. Blair is the most (small-c) conservative leader which the party has ever had and has changed it a lot, but most of its members are still to the left of even the Democrats. This is the party whose greatest legacy is the creation of the state-run healthcare system in 1948 - something which would be unthinkable in the US. Legally and and officially 'New' Labour, as Blair called it, is still the same party, he just sought to shed its image from the early 80s as being too far left, most noticeably by repealing the clause in the party's constitution calling for more state ownership of the means of production.

The alignment of which you speak is really just the leadership and not the whole parties, certainly not the grassroots. During the last US election Blair was keen that his MPs were not seen to be supporting John Kerry even though many wanted to. In her capacity as a lawyer his wife criticised aspects of America's war or terror in 2004, and you no doubt heard his deputy just said Bush was 'crap' on Middle Eastern policy. These may give a hint to Blair's real thoughts.

Maybe years from now when he writes his memoirs Blair will say what he really thinks of Bush - he is a smarter man and must know it - but apparently he seems to think the only way to defeat the al-Quaeda menace is to stick as closely to the US policy as possible, whatever private doubts he might have, and is resigned to having only a small role in influencing that policy. But this decision has hurt his reputation here more than anything else in nine years of power.

Have a survivor party, you know like the TV show. split everyone into two teams and then you can do challenges on the beach. You could have a treasure hunt, races and a huge sandcastle competition. The team which wins each challenge gets prizes and then you could end it all with a big barbecue. ok , i am a freshman and not that popular . . . i have been trying to build up a rep but i am shy . i figure a halloween party would be just the thing .

it is going to be at night (obviously) , outside and i have a pool .

i was thinking of a pool party and dye the pool red and add some dry ice . starting at 8 (1 hour after it gets dark) and ends at about midnigt . (it is a school night so that might be a problem , lol ) . i need food ideas , any cool games that aren't for little lids . it is generally strictly high school party guests . so basically , i need old school music (halloween music - if anything , i will turn to hip-hop , lol ), halloween themed food/games , drinks .

honestly , i am desperate for help with this , lol . i am not really feeling like i should be the center of attention , it is just supposed to be so people can go and hang out .

Just before the party starts, two bums show up looking for a handout. Feeling sorry for the bums, the woman tells them that they can get a meal if they will chop some wood out back.

My cousin is turning 16 in one month. Her dream has always been a huge party, like the ones on My Super Sweet 16. Her parents finally agreed to it, and she has a pretty big budget. She plans to hire a party planner, but first we have to chose a theme and some dresses.

This is what we need:

1. A few party themes...however many you can think of.

2. A dress for the beginning of the party. It should be fancy and go along with the theme.

3. A dress for during the actual party. It shouldn't be too fancy...comfortable definately, but still go with the theme.

4. She has 4 best friends, and she wants them to wear dresses similar to each other...they don't have to be the same, just similar, but most be the same color...that way everyone knows that they are her bffs.

If you can't tell, she loves the show My Super Sweet 16. So if you could please help us, that would be awesome!! I would prefer links to the dresses, or you can put them on polyvore.

Well thats a pretty long list but the ones with * means I must have them in the party please help me! after I choose a party then I will ask another question concerning the moves of each pokemon.

Perfect pokemon party?
Ok so, 2 pokemon you should defineatly have are Charizard, and Swampert. Charizard is an incredibly powerful well balenced fire flyer, that can learn some good dragon moves. Swampert can learn very powerful water and ground moves ( Surf and Earthquake) and It's arch nemises is useless against it (electric). Make sure you have those 2, Another Good pokemon to have would be MetaGross seeing how it is very powerful and it's defence is good. SO thats 3 out of 6.

The 4th pokemon that would be very helpful for you is Lucario. Lucario's combination of Fighting Steel only has 2 real weaknesses, Fire and Psychic. And on top of that, Lucario can learn some Dark moves to take care of Phsycic pokemon, a powerful dragon move (Dragon Pulse (TM)) and 2 other powerful moves (yours to discover).

For your 5th Choice, Defineatly take the Shelgon. When it evolves into Salamence, The combination of Dragon and FLying cna be very useful, also Salmence as you will be able to tell, is also a hidden fire pokemon. If you don't know the term hidden, it means that if Nintendo had put 3 types for Pokemon instead of just 2, that fire would be one of them. Its like Garchomp, it's hidden type is water.

Your 6th choice in my oppinion shoudl be the Luxray, the most powerful Electric pokemon yet to come into pokemon generations.

Now, you may not like my team seeing how there are no legendaries. I cannot stand using Legendaries (or ubers for some people) in my team. For me they are just a cheap way to beat a trainer seeing how its very hard to down one of them. I hope this Helps.

Set aside that, you should try to EV train *other* pokemon sides legendaries, such as a Wevile

Hang over pills + condoms will be placed around the house.

Sounds like you have it under control. I would suggest that you put the beer in the kitchen sink with ice instead of the bathroom. The bathroom is already hard enough to get into because people peeing so much. It may be hard for people to get drinks.

Okay...so my friends and I are having a party this weekend...A party party (alcohol) yes we are all of age, but we wanted to have a themed party. But we want it to be different from what everyone else does like lingerie parties and costume parties. Any good ideas?

How about a party based on food or drink? Pick one thing - for example Martinis or margaritas - and everyone can bring something to make a particular kind of drink.

Bring strawberries and make a strawberry drink , someone else brings chocolate , etc.

You can do the same with food - ice cream or pizza -everyone bring a topping.

Or have everyone bring a dish from a certain country.

I have the privilege to register to vote soon, and I am completely lost for ideas. I have been considering the Democratic party, but I don't agree with them 100% (I don't think anyone agrees with their party, or their religion, for that matter a 100%) and no offense to any Democrats out there, but the party is just being run right now by who can make the most noise. Which is sad, because this would/could be the party's time to take control - when President Bush is making it so easy. It kind of feels like they're letting an oppritunity go by - and they aren't going to put anyone I'm overly passionate about in office in 08. They'd go for Hillary over anyone anyways, so I am not sure if I want to follow a party around that has the intentions of putting someone in the Oval Office that I don't even like. And to be honest, as far as Presidents go, I'm sick of seeing the lesser of two evils win. It's been that way, as far as I'm concerned, for over 20 years.

Any other parties I can consider?

I'm having majour trouble for my birthday party! I'm not sure if I should have a hotel-party and only invite a few of my friends, or have an outdoor-party and invite a TON of my friends! We were invited to a college graduation party. The party will be held at a restaurant and the inivite states "please bring money for dinner". Are we to also bring a gift to this party? I know it's expected, but I really think a "congratulations" card would be sufficient. If we should bring a gift, how much do you spend on a gift for someone when you're paying to attend their party? I'd normally spend $50 or $60 - but we're going to spend at least that much just to attend. The person is a relative, but not someone we're close to. We see them maybe 2 - 3 times a year at family functions.

Eeek, that was quite rude of the host to expect the party-goers to pay for their dinner. If money was a concern, they should have planned a less-expensive party that they could have funded themselves.

But regardless of their error, you should not be rude in return. It isn't "expected" that you bring a gift, according to traditional ettiquette (no gift should ever be "expected").

However, the grad really is expecting a gift, even if he/she shouldn't. And the grad probably isn't the host of the party, so the error in ettiquette isn't his/her fault anyway. So basically, bring a gift.

But do take the cost of the dinner into consideration. Give a card with $20 or $25 in it.

I would skip this soiree altogether. Send the graduate $20 in the mail....and go eat somewhere YOU want to eat and pay for the night of that party. I had originally told my Maid of Honor that I wanted to get a party bus, since we had a lot of girls going. She contacted them all months ago and told them what part of the plan would be and an approx cost for this party bus. Just about all the girls who were invited said they were in without a doubt. Now, things have changed, more than half of the girls backed out b/c now its "too expensive" and they cant afford it. So we have downgraded to a 8 passenger limo and some of the other girls are just going to drive into New York City for the dinner and whatever else is planned for the evening. Now one of my bridesmaids said she could get a van (2 days before the party) and its not a party van, its just a rental van.

My question is, should I be upset that we were originally getting a party bus and then a limo and now a van?

Well that is a tough question. On one instance you did tell your maid of honor that you wanted a bus and usually the bachelorette party is thrown for you by your closest friends as a tradition before you marry you should just be happy with the party they give for you and let them plan it. On the other hand if you told her about it and she went along with it before and has gone and changed it all then maybe you should be upset somewhat. In the end if everyone gets to the party safe and has a good time then thats what really matters is celebrating your upcoming wedding.

It's always thoughtful when the maid of honor consults briefly with the bride about what sort of activity she'd enjoy for the party, but it is the host's call how everyone gets there. Also, the party must fit the pocketbooks of the people throwing it. If they cannot afford a party bus, they cannot afford a party bus and that's that.

Keep in mind these women have bought dresses, shoes, any accessories you've dictated, and gifts for your wedding. While I'm sure they don't begrudge these purchases, they've also probably put a significant hole in everyone's finances already.

It may not be what you hoped for, but the van will get everyone there and it's still filled with the same people as the party bus would have been, so what's the problem?

Let go of the party bus idea and enjoy the party you get.

Try and find out about renting one of the warehouses in the fashion district.. get a permit for the party.. and make it into a R A V E....!!!

They have plenty of public parking places all over.. Get your favorite DJ.. set up an open bar (non alcoholic) for everyone inside, a buffet table with lots of finger foods... a space for the relatives with tables but low lights in that area... the rest is for dancing the night away, having a dance contest (crumping, breaking, steppin, things like that)...

And just having fun all night long..!!!

I think your best bet since you have your own DJ, a large number of attendees, and your under 21 is to look at hotels in the Santa Monica, West LA section, such as Sheratons, Marriots, Westins, etc. and try to rent party rooms. They are large, and usually you can have someone from their staff work with you to help set up the room according to what you would like. Also, best of all you can have it catered with food, unlike at a nightclub.

I'm turning 17 next month and I want a party that is unique and relatively inexpensive. Last year for my 16th, I took a bunch of my friends to NY to see Wicked on Broadway. For my 17th, my parents and I all want something simpler and cheaper. This past year my friends have had a bowling party, a spa party, a LaserTag party, a mini-golf party, and a rock climbing party, so those are all out. Also out of the question is anything illegal. In other words, no drugs/alcohol. And I don't want to do a sleepover.

I want this year to be unique and exciting, but I don't want it to be too big a deal because I plan to do something huge for my 18th.

There will be about 20 people coming.

So, any ideas?

here's a few games that i've plyed at different parties that i have had.

Two Truths - One Lie - Get To Know You Game

This is a great game for people who are trying to get to know each other. Everyone sits in a circle and takes turns telling 3 things about themself, one of them is a lie.

an example:

I have been to every continent in the world.

I won't use green towels.

I once had a ferret but it was killed by my cat.

Then everyone else votes on which is the lie. It's really funny to see what people come up with for their lie and you learn a lot of funny truths too.

Don't Say That Word

Give each person a sticker to wear on their collar or lapel when they

arrive. Then make an announcement that any time the word _____ (could be any word that will possibly be said that evening - the name of the company everyone works for, or a soft drink, or any basic word) then the person who hears another person use the word takes the speakers sticker and puts it on himself. At the end of the evening the person with the most stickers wins. People are vigilant in the beginning about saying the taboo word but they soon forget!

Silent Charades.

On little pieces of paper, write up a bunch of things to act out in pairs. You will need to know how many people are going to play so that you have the correct number of papers. (2 pieces of paper with the same thing on it--ie: ballerina, ballerina, elephant, elephant, etc.) Put them all into a hat mixed together and have everyone draw out one peice of paper. When everyone has a charade, say go, and everyone begins to act out the charade on their piece of paper. The object of the game is to find the person with the same charade as yours. When you find the person that has the same thing as you, sit down on the ground.

After the game is over, have everyone ask their partner what they were, if they were wrong they are out. There can also be a prize for the first pair that sits down. This game is the most fun when you can make each thing pretty difficult to act out.

"Apples to Apples" was a great game for any crowd. It's a simple card-type game found in the game section at the store.

The host took name stickers and wrote down the names of famous hollywood couples (each name on a different sticker). She walked around and stuck them on everyone's backs where they couldn't see them. Each person had to walk around and show people their back, then ask the person 3 questions about who they are. The point is to guess who you are (what your sticker says on your back) as fast as possible. The first few people to guess won prizes. As simple as this seems, it was fun to look around within seconds and see people communicating with each other. It was a fun time!

Equipment: Index Cards or something similar

Write the names of famous people on index cards and tape one card to the back of each guest.

Have everyone walk around in the same room, and instruct them not to mention the name on each person's back, but to talk to everyone as if they are the person on their card.

As people begin to correctly guess their identity, they have to continue to treat the people who still don't know their identity like the people whose name is taped to their back.

When everyone guesses their "true identity" then the game is over.

Note: If the group of people has something in common (e.g. all from the same class or a club), it's fun to have themed people and inside jokes when choosing the people.

Also, this game can be played as an entry game -- when each person arrives at the party, he receives a person, which gets the party going while you wait for everyone to arrive.
Reply:Gather a few things and put them in baggies. Either in a group or by themselves ask them to create something out of the materials you have given them.

Get simple little puzzles that go with the party theme switch out one piece with another puzzle. After they have solved their puzzle they have to find the missing piece. You can make your own puzzles by printing out a picture maybe of one of the products you offer and gluing it to poster board. When it dries cut out the pieces. You don't need very many pieces and if you can offer prizes then give the one who finishes fastest or has the hardest time a gift.

Weird question, I don't know how to make it make sence.. Haha. Well, I need to know the party rates. I know they give you discounts on parties and stuff. Because nobody would ever have a party there if they were paying $31 for each of the ten kids at the party. I also know because I have had a party there before and there is no way that my parents had paid that much.

And I'm in no rush at all, the party is in July, I am just excited and like plannign parties.

heyyy...i was thinking about having a party for me and my friends..we are a mixture of guys and girls..we are all around 14 years old and im lookin to have maybe 10-15 people over my house...my basment just got finished and it has a large flat screen TV, a full Sauna, a wet bar, a bathroom with a shower, a pool table, a couch, and we are gettin an air hockey table....we deffiantly want music which i think i can set up myself using our Home theatre system....my mom has let me have the party and she will be supervising but a minimal level cause i told her i didnt want her to annoy me and my friendz...i also have a large outdoor pool but it will be closed by the time i have my party so tht takes out the possibilty of an outdoor party....can u guys help me get ideas on anything for the party....i dont reallly want to play childish games like races and relays....we might want to play poker though

hey I'm back!! well first off no alcohol!! you don't need to get drunk so young trust me!! second if you did like i said and are trying to be friends with this girl ask her how should you do your party? if your friends she most likely wont have a problem helping you and since she's helping you she'll suggest things she would like doing. If you haven't started that kind of a relationship with her than just have alot of good music that you know alot of people listen to playing and have stuff set up somewhere that your guests can go to help themselves to food/drink. I would suggest that you ask your parents if they could either stay in their room that night as much as possible or leave and do something fun for them. Have them stay if your friends like them. and then just go and hang out with your friends and then start going around and talking to people you don't know as much so it helps get you some new friends. once your done with that hang out with that girl and talk to her. here's the chance to really get that friendship I told you about before going!! learn about her and then just make your way into being really good friends!! If you do this and follow what I said before I'm sure everything will work out great!!

They claim to for smaller government, and capitalism. But look who was accepted into the party with open arms: Mike Gravel.

Is this party really after what it preaches? Surely this man has many contradicting views of the party's claims on the surface.

Is the Libertarian Party a joke?
The LP has become something of a "catch-all" party for anyone that is disillusioned with the 2 major parties (or one major party with two wings). Mostly because it is the 3rd party that is most viable on the national stage. Gravel would not, at face value, appear to be a Libertarian. Obviously, socialized healthcare is not a Libertarian ideal. But those are really surface issues. If you believe in individual liberty and "the people" running the nation, those are certainly overriding issues to healthcare and social security and abortion, all these issue which the elitist establishment uses to cloud the real issues and divide us so we can't "take back" our nation. The real beauty of the LP is that it accepts differing philosophies with a common goal of leaving people alone and giving us power back in the running of our nation.
Reply:I remember reading this last week. This guy is like a walking contradiction. I like how just before joining the Libertarian party, he backed a green party candidate.

I think this is an attempt at expansion for the libertarian party. They intend to bring in Democratic supporters of Gravel and are just looking to expand their presence, though Gravel holds a few contradicting views. I don't believe either gravel or the libertarian party fit together, but they will help one another. Gravel gets an additional shot at the white house and the libertarian party gets additional exposure and draws in Gravel's loyalists. It's that simple. In an attempt to expand every major party is willing to sacrifice some of its ideals; it's not about what's right, but about winning.

Reply:I think some of the main problems with the Libertarian party are the constant accusations that so and so isn't "Libertarian enough". I happen to be a dues paying Libertarian, and have been for quite a while. And I've seen quite a few people and candidates in the party that I disagree with. Take, for instance, the Fair Tax. I would argue that it is perhaps the biggest Trojan horse to ever be set in front of our society. Imagine, putting EVERY American on welfare! But you know what? Some people don't look at it that way, even though they're "good" Libertarians. You will find this in any party. Giuliani is still a republican even though he's pro-choice. McCain has left the pack more times than I can count. Gravel does veer from the Libertarian platform on several issues. And his SS plan is one of privatization. I think Gravel fits in about as well as Ron Paul. Neither one is an ideologically "pure" Libertarian, but so what? Neither am I. Rand said several times that Liberarians value the freedoms of her philosophy but intellectually ignore the virtues that give those freedoms their value in the first place. It's like eating your cake without having to worry about anyone to bake it. Who cares what the reasons are for freedoms? Freedoms are freedoms and "We want them NOW!" (to quote an entirely different TV commercial.)

Forgetting the principles behind American freedoms and the principle of Federalism is what has led us into the Nationalistic quagmire we are in now.

We need a PRINCIPLED return to Federalism, and then we will automatically have libertarianism no matter what party is in power.

Vermont Green Party VS Vermont Progressive Party!?

I am new to Vermont and wish to become more involved with local and state politics. I wish to be party affiliated with either the Green or the Progressive parties. I am completely disenfranchised with the Democratic party! I have been looking at both parties websites and I can not find issue differences between the two. It seems they just emphasize the same stances. Does anyone know the big differance? However, the Progressive Party seems to be more organized. Could someone please break this down that has extensive knowlege in this? Thank You!

Ok honestly here is what is going to happen.

A bunch of people are going to spew a bunch of political rhetoric one way or the other and you aren't going to get a real answer.

Vermont is a very small state, I suggest you call each parties headquarters and arrange a meeting with a representative. Ask them how they will represent your ideals, what their platform is and how they will achieve it.

Small parties like these will happily meet with individual citizens.

Also I would like to say it is very refreshing to see someone putting so much thought into their party affiliation, I wish more Americans would do the same.

okay so here's the deal. two of my best friends r having sleepovr bday parties the same night. i got one invite the yesterday at night, and the othr this morning on the bus. the person who gave me one of the bus, shes only invite 5 ppl and the party starts at four, ends at the same time as my othr friends. and the othr friend's party starts at 7. my mom didnt want me sleeping ovr at the second friends house (the one whose party starts at 7) cuz she barely nose their family, so i told my othr friend wat my mom said and that i would *** for the first 4 hrs of her party and i would be an hour late to my othr friends party. then she got all upset and shes like u need to choose who u like btr, u cant just do both. but i had already told my othr friend that yes i can go. so this was the best i could do but shes stil upset (claiming thats shes not evn tho she already said she is) and so now idk wat to do. is there any othr compromise u guys can think of for this?

What would be the best party title? It's supposed to be our school's acquaintance party but since the semester is about to end, the theme was changed. We proposed a Masquerade party but it was not approved so the motif was changed to Christmas party since we can't hold it on Dec. Until now, we can't think of any title for our party. Party Faliure?

I have a birthday coming up , and all my friends are encourging me to have a party. except that the last time i had a party my "bestfriend" overtook it as her own. also my parties never seem to come out how i want them , either the things we do at them or the people that i invite are all wrong. i was thinking about "Possibly" having a party again. anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome my party faliure streak with either a good way to make a good guest list or activities to do? all inputs are helpfull. thanks :-)

I know how you feel. I have had many failed parties. For many years, no matter what I did something would go wrong and ruin it. The first "no fight" party I had was a simple party. I just invited two friends that are both really good natured and I didn't overplan. Now, I'm not saying make no plans and only invite two people. I'm just saying to invite people you know won't cause problems and keep the party laid back.

If this peson is really your best friend, I understand that you probably will invite them. Just talk with them before hand to let them know how you feel. They probably don't even realize they were taking over.

Oh and fun activites are truth or dare, prank calls, dance dance or karaoke revolution (if you have them), make a dessert, taking stupid pictures, watching movies, going to the mall (if you're inviting a small number of people), ect.

I'm having a Halloween (Cat day) party on SATURDAY and I don't have much time. I want to give my guests party favors at the end and I'm not sure what I want to give. I'd like it to be something they can wear, explaining the event. I was thinking this.

Maybe we could take a picture of all of us AT the party, and sign the back of the shirts. Then I would go to the mall and get the pictures printed on the front of the shirt. It would say like "Liz's Cat Day Party '07" or something like that. And I would give it to everyone after the party. But would they be able to do that if there was ink on the back?

I know this isn't about a wedding but no one would answer my question in the other category, sorry!

Any DETAILED ideas or answers greatly appreciated!!!

If you have a computer printer you can buy T-shirt transfers sheets. You would be able to print off the pictures at the party and iron them on the t-shirts. Saves a lot of money and time. You can even print off "Liz's Cat Day Party" Just make sure to reverse the letters or else you will be ironing them on the shirt backwards.

The most interesting party I ever hosted was my 16th B day party. We just had normal chips pop, cake pizza. Nothing too fancy. We just wore normal clothes, something u might like though is when we took those curly party favours that uncurled when you blow in them, and taped balloons on the ends of them, why? I do not know. Than one of my girlfriends was like "I want a balloon on the end of mine, so I took two red ones and taped them right where the cardboard tube ends and the curly paper starts. When she blew in her party favour the papery part stuck straight up so it looked like a guy's well you know I'm sure. I am not much of a party person, so a dream party for me would be a repeated version of my 16th but with more people, and to make it perfect, would be if my crush showed up. Maybe some alchol, and this time no parents. He he he!!! For me the most embarrassing party moment was when I was at a dance in our towns arena, people were kicking these glow sticks around, someone kicked one my way, so when I tried to kick it back, my flip flop flew off across the dance floor, I made my friend go and get my shoe back I was so embarrassed.

also, if you want to get noticed at a party, wear bright colors, but not too bright - don't make it way too obvious that ur trying to get attention. wear a necklace that isn't really the same color as ur clothes, but goes with it. also, try getting ur clothes to match the theme - if its valentine's day, wear red, pink, white, silver, etc. if it's hannukah, wear blue and white and silver. you see where this is going?

I need some party ideas. i never really do anything at my partys. I'm inviting about 30-40 people(i bet like half of those poeple will show up.) Its usually always COLD. i have a trampoline(outdoors.) and a room that has a big screen tv , i was thinking about having a movie playing, but what movie? Also i have a pool table. The party is going to be at my house. So i need some ideas of what to do. its like mainly a all girls party.NOT A SLEEP OVER. I don't really have a theme.

I think you should have a winter wonderland theme. You know like have fake snow set up in your room, maybe a fake christmas tree. and for a movie...john tucker must die is a good one and also she's the man. everyone likes those movies! HAVE FUN and don't have everything to organzied. (at 4 we'll eat pizza then at 4:30 we'll go on the trampoline)
Reply:That all sounds fun. Having a big bonfire in your backyard is fun and also cooking on the grill. Have your dad make steaks or hamburgers or something. don't forget to have music too. that really sets the mood. Have Fun!
Reply:Put on a movie that is fun to watch without having to watch the whole thing (a lot of comedies, etc. are like this. You can catch a few minutes, and you're in hysterics). Alternatively, switch the channel to one that plays music videos. If you know many of your friends like to play pool, set up a pool tournament. When people get there, they can sign up for the tournament (limited to say, 12 people or 12 teams, something like that). That can be going on throughout the night. If you don't have surround sound or good speakers for the TV, then keep the tv off and put some music on. Keep munchies out for everyone, and bring out the cake/cupcakes or whatever around 8. If you think you will have gifts, make sure you have a place set up for those (ie. a decorated table). If you don't want to center the party around a pool tournament, come up with some other games. I would suggest more music and dancing, but if it's going to be mainly girls, I think games are the way to go. Have fun!

I am having a tough time picking between these two parties for the next election. It will be my first time to vote ever, and I just hate the crowd and "expected voter turnout" of the Democrats and Republicans. I want to try something new. I dont expect results, but i do want to stand up for what is right for me and my beliefs.

The most important thing that you can do is read up on the canidates that are running and do the research. Don't let people tell you who to vote for, but please do the research on the "Green Party." My personal opinion is that the "Green Party" is frivilous in itself, but if you look into party members and what they support, you might find a canidate on one side or the other that you can actually believe in.

Well, I'm turning 13, and my birthday party's this month. First we're going rock climbing, and then going out to dinner, and then watching a movie. It should be over at around 10:00. If your birthday's this month, you could also go snow tubing (if you live where it's cold), or skiing if you and your friends know how to. You could also do shopping and dinner. :)
