ok, i need help!! my birthday is coming up (really soon!) and i have no idea what to do for my party!! sleepovers are always awesome and fun caz we spend hours gossiping and goofing off, but they have gotten sooooo cliche. i just need new ideas! it will just be me and about 10 ish of my friends so it is not huge. also, i am a teenage girl so no baby stuff please. thank in advance!!!

Reply:You could have a cooking party, or baking party. Super-cute cupcakes are totally trendy. You can make different colors of frosting and get some little candies to decorate the tops.
Manicure-pedicure party is also fun. Get a few bottles of nail polish (Super-cheap too. Like $1-$2 per bottle). Use the brushes that come in the bottle to paint the first coat, then use toothpicks as the brush to make little dots, stripes, flowers, hearts, stars, etc, etc, etc,

today one of my friends is going to be ahving a party..and her brothers friend that I happen to have a crush on is going to be there...how should I wear my hair and what should I wear?

I would make it special firstly by videoing the whole thing, so when she passes away you can have that wonderful memory of her. Get a friend to do the video as you should be in most of it with her.
I would make something like a doggy throne for her to sit on and become the centre of attention from everyone.
On the poster is would make a collage of all the best photos of her, puppy onwards. Photos of the special things you did together or even drawings. Scattered around I would put little comment bubbles of how you felt or feel now about her.
The main heading title should be just her name - in something that will really stand out.
Maybe on the invitations you can say:
You are invited to mine and your special doggie friends birthday. She has reached the fine old age of ?? and she would enjoy the company of her friends to remember the special things in her life.

Invitations:
Cut your invitations out in the shape of a bone with all the information printed on the front
Decoration:
To decorate make a paw print trail for your guests to follow that will lead them to your door. When the door opens the paw print trail continues all the way to the party room. If the party is going to take place outside, have kids follow the paw print trail wherever you'd like them to go. Lots of Doggy Balloons everywhere will add to your decor.
Purchase a solid vinyl table cloth and sponge paw prints, in a variety of sizes, all over the top with craft paint. Matching napkins and plastic ware will help make clean-up that much easier.
Cake:
Pawprint cake (make a big round cake and 4 cupcakes ) place on serving place and arrange cake and 4 cupcakes to resemble a dog foot print. (frost in the color you want)
Bone candle:

Doggie bags are easy to make when you take a brown lunch bag, fringe the top and cut ears, eyes, and muzzle out of colored construction paper. Draw mouth with a black marker and you're ready to fill with party favors.

What you'll need:
8 quart Kool-Aid canister; washed and dried
Printer
Paper
Straight pins
Pen
White felt
Black felt
Red felt
Scissors
Black permanent marker or "Painters" paint marker
2 (20 mm) wiggle eyes
Tacky glue
Craft knife, optional
How to make it:
1. Print the pattern for the ears and nose.
2. Cut out the patterns.
3. Fold the felt in half.
4. Pin the ear pattern on the felt matching the fold line to the folded edge of felt.
5. Cut out the ears.
6. Cut out small black felt circles and oval shapes and attach to ears with tacky glue. Let dry.
7. Glue eyes on the side of the lid. Screw on lid to the canister.
8. Use pattern for nose and cut out of black felt. Note: You may have to put in one pin to hold and cut around. Glue on canister.
9. Draw mouth lines on the canister.
10. Cut a red tongue and attach with tacky glue.
11. Cut a slit in the lid for the bank, if desired.
12. Lay the ears in position on the top of the canister. Cut slit in middle of ears for the bank (if bank is desired).
13. Use tacky glue to attach the ears to the top of the bank.
14. Let the sides hang loose.
15. Let dry thoroughly.
16. Make and bake sugar cookie "dog biscuits" and put inside canister as a special treat or fill with party goodies.
Tips:
You can roll out refrigerated sugar cookie dough and cut with bone-shaped cookie cutters. Sprinkle with sugar and bake according to directions on package. Place the cookies inside the canister and give as a party gift to each child!

Games:
Pin the Tail (or bow) on the Doggy:
Blow up an image of your favorite dog. Make enough tails or bows for each child and put their name on front. Blindfold and turn child three times before letting them go. Give a party prize to the tail or bow that comes the closest.
Drop the Dog Bone into a Dish:
Purchase dog biscuits and a dog dish. Have children kneel facing the back of the chair and drop as many bones into the dog dish below as possible.
Puppy, Puppy, Dog:
Have children sit in a circle. Birthday child is "it". As they walk around the outside of the circle they pat each child on the head saying, "puppy, puppy, puppy...DOG" When the child says "DOG" the one sitting on the floor jumps up and both children run around the circle in hopes of being the first to sit down. The child left standing is "it" and the game continues.
Red Rover:
Divide players into two teams. Each team forms a line by holding hands and stretching themselves out. The two teams face each other and should be about 25 feet apart or more. Each side takes turns calling, "Red Rover, Red Rover, send (name) right over." At that signal, the player called, runs from his line and tries to break through the line of his/her opponents. If he breaks through, he can take one opponent back with him to his team. If he does not break through, he joins the other team. The team to add the most players wins.
Musical Dog House:
Some fun, upbeat, music and a dog house, made from a cardboard refrigerator box, with a crawl through hole in back and front, is all you need. Kids get down on all fours and pretend they're dogs. When the music begins they crawl in a circle around and through the dog house. When the music stops the child that's in the dog house is out. To be fair, have the person that is starting and stopping the music keep their backs to the children while another adult keeps track of who's out.
Dog Gone Relay:
The race is on to see which team can fetch the most items first. Divide children into two teams. Have them form two lines at one end of the room. At the other end have two piles of things dogs would want to "fetch": old shoe, bone, ball, toy car, stuffed cat. When you say "Go Fetch" the first player on each team runs to the other end of the room and grabs an item. Here's the catch. If they grab the shoe they must put it on and run back to their line wearing it before the next player can proceed. If they pick up the car they must race it back with its wheels touching the floor. The ball they must carry in their mouth. The cat requires them to say, "meow, meow" all the way home. Lots of fun! First team to get all their items home wins.
Dog ears:
You can make these by attaching felt ears to an inexpensive painter cap from a paint or hardware store. Enlist a teenage or adult helper to face paint a simple nose and whiskers on each child.

9 cup Chex cereal
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Put the Chex cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a double boiler, or on low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
Pour the mixture over the Chex cereal and mix until coated. Put the mixture into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat the mixture with the powdered sugar.
Spread mixture out on wax paper to cool.

My niece had her 6th birthday party this weekend. My sister planned a dog themed birthday party for her.
She made a really cute paw print birthday cake, and cupcakes to match the colors in the dog themed party supplies. She used a Wilton #12 tip, then flattened the icing to look like paw prints. She used the same tip to edge the bottom of the cake.
This cake would also be really cute for a cat themed, Webkinz, Pawparazzi pets, or bear themed birthday party. It's not a complicated cake to make. The cupcakes are even simpler.

Decoration:
To decorate make a paw print trail for your guests to follow that will lead them to your door. When the door opens the paw print trail continues all the way to the party room. If the party is going to take place outside, have kids follow the paw print trail wherever you'd like them to go. Lots of Doggy Balloons everywhere will add to your decor.
Purchase a solid vinyl table cloth and sponge paw prints, in a variety of sizes, all over the top with craft paint. Matching napkins and plastic ware will help make clean-up that much easier.
Cake:

My niece had her 6th birthday party this weekend. My sister planned a dog themed birthday party for her.
She made a really cute paw print birthday cake, and cupcakes to match the colors in the dog themed party supplies. She used a Wilton #12 tip, then flattened the icing to look like paw prints. She used the same tip to edge the bottom of the cake.
This cake would also be really cute for a cat themed, Webkinz, Pawparazzi pets, or bear themed birthday party. It's not a complicated cake to make. The cupcakes are even simpler.

And invite people to bring a snack (or drink). Don't feel you have to be responsible for all of it...the more the merrier.

Me and my friend were having a debate about this, so I thought Id see what you guys thought. If some people were having a party at their house, with underage drinking, and someone knew about it and called the cops. Would the police need a search warrant to come in and look? I said within one, they couldnt unless the clearly seen alcohol or drunk people when they opened the door. But my friend said if they had probable cause(like the phone call about it), they could go in a look. What is right?

the stress. He quits his job and buys 50 acres of land in Alabama to be as
far away from humanity as possible.
Sam sees the mailman once a week and gets groceries once a month.
Otherwise, it’s total peace and quiet.
After 6 months or so of almost total isolation, he’s finishing dinner one
day when someone knocks on his door. He opens it and there is a big,
bearded man standing there. “Name’s Enoch… Your neighbor from four miles
over the ridge… Having a party Saturday… Thought you’d like to come.”
“Great,” says Sam, “after 6 months of this I’m ready to meet some local
folks. Thank you.”

They all brought their X-boxes and scary movies and hooked them up to the T.V. s (there were 4) I ordered them pizza and had brought a load of junk food and cake and went to my own room and left them alone.
The only thing is you have to limit the # of guests. We had about 12 guys. There were 2 beds in each room and a couch. And some of them brought sleeping bags. The kids really liked this, several of my sons friends have done this since then (he was turning 14). And I loved it. This was the best b/day party I had ever been too! I had my own room and sat there in total peace and read a book and watched T.V.

A chocolate fountain is lots of fun. I still remember the one that my friend had at her party. There's also those punch bowl fountains that look really pretty.
For food I'd do a little buffet style thing with fried rice, sausage, roasted onion potatoes, cheese brocolli, grilled chicken bbq style.
Or you could do a Taco or Fajita station and have meats, tortillas/tacos and all the fixings spread out.
I'm sure whatever you serve everyone will have fun as long as there's good friends and good music.

It just a casual party with alchohol and etc. Im pretty shy when it comes to strangers when i have to talk to them, but at the same time, I don't want to seem like a loser and I don't want to make her feel like I'm not having any fun. I get a bit more loose when Im tipsy, and i might start acting crazy, but I just want to ask for some suggestions. I don't want to be just there by myself the whole time while everybody else is having a fun time. What can i do..?

if you want, see if you can invite one of your friends to go with you. That way you can look out for each other if something goes wrong. As for the alcohol, i would avoid that if i were you. Sure it might make you the life of the party, but still, you never know what could happen, especially since you don't know anyone. If you decide to go solo though, try not to be nervous about talking to strangers. If you see someone else on their own, try talking to them maybe.
For a bit of added confidence, avoid the alcohol and hit the sugar. You'll get an energy boost, but without losing your head.

how about you have a theme like arabian nights
or hollywood. you could get a red carpet and like play famous movies on mute around the house. have someone interview your guests when they first step on the carpet and then make a dvd for everyone.
or if you want somethign smaller, you can have a pool party with catered food and good music[of course] and glowsticks! they would look cool at night in a pool.

I think it would be fantastic to have a 'Fantasy Party' theme. This means you can pretty much dress as anything you want, princess, princes, fairytale characters, knights, fairies, angels, pirates etc...the list goes on!
I know you are 14 but it would be really cool to hire out a venue that has a bar...this way the bar staff can make non alcoholic cocktails with fantasy theme names (all different colours with names like 'Princess Delight', 'Pirates Shiver' etc...you can have fun making up drinks and names!
Now, this venue could be a hall that you could decorate with different areas...
The bar,
The food area,
The games area,
The chillout area,
%26amp; the dance floor!
So, as i said before..the bar will serve non alcoholic cocktails, juices and sodas.
For the food/buffet i would suggest you buy the largest pizzas you can find...get about 4 or 5 different varieties...i know 14 year olds (Especially the boys) have huge appetites.
Bowls of chips and potato wedges with dips.
Nachos with melted cheese.
Bowls of crisps, cakes, glasses filled with brightly coloured sweets.
It would be a sweet idea to have somone dressed as a butler/pirate etc hand out a brightly coloured drink to your guests when they arrive and have someone dressed as a princess to hand offer everyone canapes and finger food.
You need to have a HUGE cake...it should relate to your costume too...if you go as a princess it could be a magical fairytale castle! Serve it up or give out to everyone at the end..it would be nice to offer it to your friends parents too as a kind gesture.
In the games area it would be cool to have a twister mat and any other floor games you can find...hoopla would be fun as would a coconut shy...you could even have somebody tending the stalls and you could give prizes to those who hit all the coconuts (a stuffed toy for example or a box of chocolates). A pinata in the shape of a crown or pirate ship would be perfect..fill it with toys and sweets.
The chillout area should just be a corner with a few sofas, beanbags, cushions and fairy lights..just where people can sit and chat.
The dancefloor should just be the middle of the hall. Make a playlist for your DJ of all your favourite songs...include some from fantasy songs to keep with the theme. Make sure there is a disco ball and loads of flashing lights!
Just had an idea for gifts....by the entrance you could have a huge poster of a fairytale castle and a huge poster of a pirate ship, or alternatively just a white backdrop. When your guests enter you could hire a photographer to take pictures of them as they arrive...standing in front of the posters! While the party is going on..you could get someone to print each person's picture and put it into a fancy frame (if bought in bulk won't be too expensive) with a note on the back saying 'Thankyou for attending my Fourteenth Fantasy Party!'.
You could have a silver gift bag for each person..for girls, pop the photoframe in there along with a lot of glitter confetti, plastic jewellery, cute lipgloss and girly sweets..perhaps a pen/pencil too maybe a party mix cd would be fun too. For boys, put in the photoframe, bouncy balls, practical jokes, pack of cards, fantasy character figurines and gruesome looking sweets..like jelly worms etc and a party mix cd. You get the idea!!
You could also have a cool prize for best boy/girls costume...something related to the theme of course!
I reckon this party would be a huge hit with your friends. Dancing, great music, loads of gifts, games, delicious food..what more can you want from a party!!

Have a stage and a camcorder set up to record the guests performances. You can even hire a nice band to play the music. Have a roasted pig and all the traditional luau foods. You can have it catered. Also, hire a few Hawaiian dancers. Not only can they perform, but they can also teach people how to do the hula.
