Party?????

My 13 birthday is in January and I was supposed to have a party last year but things came up and I had to cancel. My mom said that i cant have a party. and i have never had one before because of how strict she is about them but It's my 13 and im finally becoming a teenager so i really want to have a party how can i convince her

Explain to her that you would liek to have a few friends get together to celebrate your birthday. The word party might scare her and she might think that there will be too many people and it can get out of hand. Come up with ideas of ideas of what you would like to do and a guest list. Work together with your Mom on planning this and show her how responsible you can be.

Reply:Don't whine. That's the last thing you want to do. Use logic, reason with her. I don't mean logic as in 'everyone else has had a party!" logic, that just kills your chances. Try compromising; Only have a certain amount of people, try having the party away from home to avoid a giant mess. Set some boundries. Good luck!
Reply:Simply explain to your mom that this is something extremely important to you. Also, explain that if its at your house, you will take full responsibility for any damage. Dont act like you will invite alot of people or have a boy/girl party. Say that you want just a few of your close girl friends. Also ask what you can do to get a party.
