Party ideas for VERY different twin girls?

My girls (twins) are turning 4, but they don't want the same party. First three years we didn't have themed parties, and so I thought a themed party this year would be fun. Unfortunatley, one of my girls wants a pirate party and the other wants a fairy, both very determined. How can i resolve this?

Peter Pan.

Tinkerbell and then, you could base it on the ship and all the pirates. Then, you have Captain Hook and everything.

Yep. I have brothers and sisters and they all love different things. We have to work out, something that we would all enjoy. :)

Just ask the kids, whether they would like to be a fairy or a pirate and get a mix and blend the themes together. Keeps both of them happy.

You could always arrange one party, the day after or before. Or, throw one party in the morning and one in the afternoon. Or go somewhere, which has two party rooms and flick between the two, if you don't wanna throw both of the parties together.
Reply:Send pirate themed cards to half the guests, fairy to the rest... do the same with the plates etc. It will be more work for you, but should make them happy and the kids will like it
Reply:I guess you have four choices.

1. have a pirate and fairy party. Guests can chose what they would to be and have both fairy and pirate decorations. Captain hook knew Tinkerbell.

2. Each girl has a party on a different day just like any other siblings do.

3. You chose and not ask again for a few years.

4. Ditch the party. Have they had a joyride in an aeroplane , gone boating etc. Maybe create a different kind of special memory for their birthday
Reply:Why not accomodate both? Use Oriental Trading Company's online catalogue to order supplies for both, and everything will be fine.
Reply:don't do either of the two. tell to to both agree on something or no party, then they will decide.
Reply:Give them separate parties. You may have to scale them down a bit to make it more affordable, but I bet they would both be pleased. Encourage their differences. Twins have a hard time establishing their individuality if they always have to do things together.
Reply:I was going to suggest Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, but I see I got beaten to it!

if you're not holding a separate party for each then I think this is a really good compromise.
Reply:Hannah Duran's answer is brilliant! There's tons of Tinkerbell supplies out there, but it may be harder to find Peter Pan themed items. You may be able to use some Pirates Of The Caribbean themed stuff, or basic pirate themed items.

You may also be able to find unused Peter Pan themed items on eBay
Reply:why not be either. fairies that are priates

or
