College graduation party ideas?

I'll be graduating from college next month (finally!) and I want to have a party, but I'm not sure what type of party I should have. I'm not asking for a theme -- just a good location/activities.


This party would be for both my friends and my extended family, and neither I nor my friends are into drinking/craziness, so nothing like that. On the other hand, I don't want it to be boring! So far, I'm thinking of either having it at a park or at a church hall (my house or yard would not work for a party). Of course people will want to sit and chat, but I don't want that to be the ONLY thing for them to do. I mentioned a water balloon toss if I have it outside, but my boyfriend said that was kind of an immature idea. I don't know!


Does anyone have ideas of another good location or some good things to do for a college graduation party? I have already decided that I AM going to have a party and it WILL include both my family and friends, so please don't suggest anything else. Thanks!

iWhen i Graduated from college I too threw a big party to celebrate. like you i wanted to do something would make a lasting memory for the golden oldie days and with the help of some of my dearest and closest friends i was able to give one hell of a party and it was given with the help of every guest that was there.What did you do? you are wandering well here it goes everyone who is invited is asked to come dressed as they would have been in what ever grade was their favorite year also have them bring the type of music that was popular that particular year and as one last thing ask them to bring a pot luck of what ever their favorite food was to eat while in school this makes for a variety of foods for snacking and you simply supply drinks and of course your fave snacks or pot luck meal. as for games---i am sure everyone played truth or dare- and who can forget twister--the n there is hop scotch jump rope with two turners and have your guest supply the rhymes that you jump to like---BUBBLE GUM BUBBLE GUM IN A DISH HOW MANY PIECES CAN I GET 1-2-3-4 ETC. LOL any way hope this helps
