What IN-HOME PARTY biz should I host? Seeking something DIFFERENT!?

I'm considering hosting a party for an in-home party sales plan businesses, i.e. Tupperware, PartyLite, Pampered Chef, Weekenders, etc. However, I'd like to host something a little DIFFERENT from the "same old, same old", because the more new/appealing it is, hopefully the more friends will actually attend! ;)

One thing I'm interested in is parties that involve sampling/eating foods, but do NOT involve a lot of "heavy cooking" at the party. I'd especially love a sampling party for DESSERT type products only, but I only know of a few food-related home party businesses, and none are dessert-only.

I'm also interested in parties where card, dice and/or board games are the products, but I've never heard of this.

I'll consider ANY home party line that's a bit different from the usual. :) But please -- make sure prices are reasonable, so folks will actually be willing to buy, not super-expensive like Longaberger Baskets or Princess House!

Thank you for any tips you can share! :)

What IN-HOME PARTY biz should I host? Seeking something DIFFERENT!?
I am a Pampered Chef consultant and we are not limited as to what we can do at our parties as far as recipes and product demo. PC products are very versatile and our recipes are really easy. We have several theme shows that specialize on desserts: death by chocolate, sweet and simple, simple as pie, etc. If you have a consultant in mind already for PC, give her a call and really talk over with her what YOU want to do. If she's a good consultant, she knows that when the host is excited and involved, it will be a great party, and she will accommodate you in whatever way she can. If she can't or won't, you can contact me and I'll help you find someone in your area. The biggest thing is not to let the consultant take complete control. She knows the "mechanics" of having a good show, so take her "coaching" to heart when she gives you suggestions on how to invite people or how to collect orders, but also make sure she's listening to you and taking to heart what YOU want out of the party so that it will be a success for both of you. You can contact me through my profile if you need more information or have more questions.
