What political party do you think your personal values affiliate you with?

Many people think they belong to party X or party Y but when asked what values they think they share with said party they are unable to answer. Please state what party you think you belong to and what values you have in common with that party. In reality most people don't really know what their party is, they just repeat what they have been brainwashed with in school. So lets hear your thoughts!

What political party do you think your personal values affiliate you with?
I am all over the board. I belong to three parties, believe it or not. For starters:

I share the following with Republicans:

-Small taxes

-Small federal government

-Foreign policy

-No gun control

I share the following with Democrats:

-Social issues (Abortion, gay rights, etc)

-Education

-Environmentalists

-Small Business should have as much power as Big Business

I share the following with the Libertarians:

-State power over Federal Power (lets face it - Mississippi's economy is different than NEw York's. We are becoming to centralized. In the phone book, the federal government has more offices in my great state of Alabama than the state government does. This is wrong.)

You could call me a Constitutionalist. I do not believe in gun control. I believe in freedom of choice. No welfare, no social security, however there should be foundations. Little government spending, a strong army, peace before war, strong international ties, a currency acked by rock (which it no longer is), etc. etc. You could call me a moderate.

In a nutshell: LOW TAXES, STATE RIGHTS, FREEDOM OF CHOICE, PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT, NO BIG BUSINESS!!
Reply:What's the point in voting.

Reply:It doesnt matter what party you are affiliated with anymore. Bother parties are pandering to the rich special interest groups that helped them get elected. The interest groups contributed money, and the politicians are working for them now. It is true. I am a political science major and there is no difference in the way the parties work in our present time.
Reply:I'm a centrist or... 'The middle man'. I'm not all conservative, and I'm not all liberal. If anything I'd probably be closer to liberal.... but for the most part. My beliefs fall into each category equally. Plus, my dad is a republican, and my mom is a democrat, so i guess i was born with both :)
Reply:the Republican party...
Reply:Maybe the Green party... but most likely none of them. Definitely not Democrat or Republican. If those 2 parties disappeared over night, I wouldn't shed any tears.
Reply:Green party. Legalize NOW!
Reply:With growing homigenisation of the society the lines divding the party has increasingly to become a mathematical line.Gone are the days when the parties would abuse and fight with each other. Because in the final analysis the welfare of the state cannot be any different for either of them. It is like the Japanese families. The father may be a shinto, mother a Buddhist, son a Christian and daughter something else The summum bonum for humans cannot be different in different religions though it may have been presented differently. We in our family are members of different parties but that is more on account of tradition and upbringing.I,therefore, do not think that any particular party reflects my personal values but that each and every one of them reflects them, may be some more clearly and others rather dimly.
Reply:Well, a little of both the Democrats and the Republican but I tend to agree more with the Democrats!
Reply:Im a registered democrat..but I have very conservative (republican) views..so I guess I am a conservative democrat
